Where Cultures Collide

Destination Guide

Discover Malaysia

Malaysia, a Southeast Asian gem, is a melting pot of cultures, lush rainforests and stunning landscapes. While Malaysia is overshadowed by some of its Asian neighbours, it is a truly captivating country that offers a wealth of tourism highlights that enchant travellers from around the world from its bustling cities to idyllic islands and exotic Borneo.

Kuala Lumpur, the bustling capital city, greets visitors with a vibrant mix of modernity and tradition. Its contemporary landmarks like the Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower and the Merdeka Tower showcase modern Malaysia, whilst the Batu Caves, one of the most iconic Hindu temples outside of India, highlights the traditions of this Southeast Asian nation.

Mainland Malaysia's Cameron Highlands provide a change of pace from the bustle of Kuala Lumpur. The Highlands' cooler temperatures both offer some respite from the heat and allow for expansive tea plantations. Further north you can experience Malaysia's unspoilt rainforest and witness wild elephants in their natural habitat.

The island of Penang beckons with its rich history and mouth-watering culinary scene. Penang has something for everyone, with a vibrant food scene, colonial history, temples and beaches. The island of Langkawi, with its pristine beaches, is the perfect spot to sit back and relax.

On Borneo, the city of Kota Kinabalu is the gateway to the majestic Mount Kinabalu and the renowned Kinabalu National Park. Of course, no visit to Borneo is complete without witnessing a wild Orangutan and venturing down the Kinabatangan River.

Sarawak, and its capital Kuching provide rich cultural opportunities, such as staying in a traditional long house. A trip to Malaysia will reflect the diverse nature of this country where old meets new and where untamed rainforest meets beach.
